In the pandemic-shortened 2020 flavour, Bregman batted .242/.350/.451 with 6 dwelling runs and 22 RBIs, in 153 at bats.[125] On defense force he had the second-highest fielding percentage of all AL third basemen, at .979, and played 42 games at third base.[126] Through 2020 he had the 4th-highest career on-base pct (.381), slugging percentage (.521), and OPS (.902) of all Astros batters, and the 8th-best career charge per unit of at-bats-per-dwelling-run (xix.6).[127]

2021 [edit]

On June 16, 2021, Bregman injured his left quadriceps in a game versus the Texas Rangers equally he attempted to avoid hitting into a double play. He was batting .275 with vii habitation runs and 34 RBIs at the time.[128] The injury, a strain, caused him to miss over two months of the season. He returned Baronial 25, scoring the winning run versus the Kansas City Royals.[129]

In the regular flavour, Bregman batted .270/.355/.422 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs in 91 games and 348 at bats, playing third base exclusively.[125] For his meritorious character and service to the community, the Houston affiliate of the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) honored Bregman with the Darryl Kile Practiced Guy Award for 2021.[130]

In Game vi of the 2021 Earth Serial, Bregman made his 73rd postseason start as function of the infield unit of José Altuve, Carlos Correa, and Yuli Gurriel, which was more postseason starts together than whatever quartet of teammates in major league history, surpassing the Yankees' Derek Jeter, Tino Martinez, Paul O'Neill, and Bernie Williams, who had started 68 postseason contests together.[131]

Personal life [edit]

In January 2020, Bregman became engaged to Reagan Howard,[132] and they married in Dec of that year.[133] They reside in Houston year-round.[134]

With several Astros teammates of Latin descent, including José Altuve, Carlos Correa, and Yuli Gurriel, Bregman consistently practices and improves his Spanish-speaking power. He began to written report Castilian as a child in school in his hometown of Albuquerque, where virtually half of the population is Latino.[135]
